Chess.FM!
ICC Chess.FM is covering the World Championship match and the U.S. Championship, with the "dream team" working double shift.
The World Championship Match, after the first two games, has seen the two contestants still in a phase of study, with two interesting but rather short draws, a Grunfeld and a QGD semi-Slav. ICC asked its members to vote on who will be the new World Chess Championship, and Anand is the favorite so far, with 71.3% of the votes. But we all know that the Israeli "underdog" GM will fight tooth and nail, and the next games promise to be enthralling. Check below for the Chess.FM schedule. GM Alex Yermolinsky is providing analysis of all the games in the "Game Of the Day" daily video, which include the TRIVIA question, to win a 1-year subscription to the best chess magazine out there: New in Chess!
The U.S. Championship is half-way through, with GM Hikaru Nakamura imposing his superior class. In round 5 he defeated GM Gregory Kaidanov, that until then shared the lead with Hikaru. Had Gregory been able to draw Hikaru, he could have really had a shot at the US Championship Title, after his great win over Gata Kamsky in round 4. Now, who will be able to stop CapilanoBridge? ICC Chess.FM will be on the air to comment on the games every day, and there will be TRIVIA! to win membership extensions. We are also providing the GOTD service for the U.S. Championship. If you can't be online when the games are played, don't miss your chance to watch GM Yermo's analysis of the best game of the day.
And that is not all! ICC is relaying games from the interesting Sigeman & Co 2012 Tournament. One Top 10 (Fabiano Caruana) and strong players such as Peter Leko, Anish Giri, Emanuel Berg, are playing this interesting tournament, being held in Malmo, Sweden. Caruana, after 3 rounds, is on the lead, with a convincing 2.5/3. The iron-man of modern chess keeps playing and playing, and all of us hope he won't land to the Tal Memorial in June with a tiredness that could influence his results.
