AUGUST 28: CCA August Blitz
11-SS, G/3+2, at Internet Chess Club. $1300 guaranteed prizes. Must be on Zoom (use real name) to be eligible for prizes.  In 2 sections. Open Section: Open to all. $200-120-70, top U2200 $140-70 . Under 2000/Unr Section: $160-80-40, top 1600-1799/unr $100-50, U1600 (no unr) $100-50, U1400 (no unr) $80-40. Entry fee at chessaction.com: $32 by 8/26, $50 by 3 pm EDT 8/28. GMs $30 from prize. Log into playcca.com 30 minutes before game; first round 8/28 8 pm EDT, 7 pm CDT, 6 pm MDT, 5 pm PDT. Other rounds ASAP; 15 minute break after round 6. Should finish by 11 pm EDT. Half point byes available any round, limit 2 byes; must be claimed with registration & cannot be changed. USCF membership required; may join with registration. Online Blitz rated (will not affect OTB ratings), but regular OTB ratings used for pairings & prizes. $15 service charge for refunds. AUGUST 29: CCA August Open
5-SS, G/45+10, at Internet Chess Club. $3500 guaranteed prizes. Must be on Zoom (use real name) to be eligible for prizes. In 4 sections. Major Section: Open to 1900/above. $500-300-150, top 2100-2299 $200, U2100 $200. Under 2000 Section: $360-180-120, top U1800/Unr $200. Under 1700 Section: $300-150-100, top U1500 (no unr) $170. Under 1400 Section: $240-120-80, top U1200 (no unr) $130. Entry fee at chessaction.com: $49 by 8/26, $72 by 9 am EDT 8/29, must take round 1 bye after 7 pm EDT 8/28, no entry after 9 am EDT 8/29. GMs $40 from prize. 7-SS, G/15+5, at Internet Chess Club. $1300 guaranteed prizes. Must be on Zoom (use real name) to be eligible for prizes. In 2 sections. Open Section: Open to all, $240-120-60, top U2300 $140, U2100 $120. Under 1900/Unr Section: $180-90-50, top U1700 $120, U1500 $100, U1300 $80. Entry fee at chessaction.com: $32 by 8/27, $50 by 10 am EDT 8/30, entry after 9 pm 8/29 must take half point bye in rd 1. GMs $30 from prize. Log into playcca.com 30 minutes before game. First round 8/30 12 noon EDT, 11 am CDT 10 am MDT, 9 am PDT. Other rounds every hour on the hour; should finish by 7 pm EDT. Half point byes: Available all rounds, limit 2 byes, must be claimed with registration & cannot be changed. Online Quick rated (will not affect OTB ratings), but regular OTB ratings used for pairings & prizes. $15 service charge for refunds. • "FAIR PLAY" ANALYSIS
  All games played in USCF rated tournaments will be analyzed using ICC's sophisticated anti-cheating tools. Such analysis will include, but not be limited to, comparing moves played to the recommendations of various engines. Players suspected of violating the Fair Play rules may: 1) have their results and any prize eligibility canceled, 2) be banned from future play on ICC, 3) be banned from future Continental Chess tournaments both online and over the board, and 4) be reported to the USCF Ethics Committee, leading to possible suspension of USCF membership.

  After each tournament, results will not be final for up to three weeks, while ICC fair play analysis of all games takes place. Tournaments may be rated much sooner, with an edited rating report later submitted if results change. If any players are disqualified, those who lost to the ejected player will be given half point byes, while those who drew will obtain forfeit wins.

 

WHAT TO DO AFTER REGISTRATION:

1) At chessaction.com, go to the row for the tournament and click on "entry list" to make sure you are listed. If not, notify us at director@chess.us.

2) If you are a current ICC member with a user name linked to your USCF ID number (like those who have played in our online tournaments), you are all set. If not, go to register.chessclub.com/cca to register with ICC. If you are unable to register, contact director@chess.us.

3) Read the rules posted HERE.

4) Log into Zoom at  CCAZOOM.COM. You must be on Zoom, using your real name, to be eligible for prizes.

5) 30 minutes before play begins, log into playcca.com, wait for any messages, and wait for your pairing to pop up when play is about to begin. DO NOT LOG OFF or you may not be paired.
