Today is the birthday of Grandmaster Temur Kuybokarov, who was born in Tashkent. Uzbekistan, on July 22, 2000.
Temur learned the game from his mother, Tatyana Igonina, also his trainer. In 2016, Kuybokarov moved to Australia with his family.
There, he won the "Australian Open" twice, in 2017 and 2019, before claiming the national title twice, in 2020 and 2022.
In December 2023, he reached his highest rating of 2600 Elo points.
During his career, he defeated Anand in a simultaneous exhibition at the age of 11, as well as Gukesh, Wojtaszek, Maghsodloo, and Matlakov.
