ADJUSTED RATINGS

PLEASE NOTE: For all tournaments, adjusted FIDE or foreign ratings, if higher than USCF, may be used for foreign or recently foreign players. Players must disclose FIDE or foreign ratings when entering, or may later be expelled. Other ratings such as club, league, scholastic, state or province, etc, adjusted if appropriate, may be used at our discretion if above USCF.  No rating below the latest official USCF rating, on the list corresponding to the ending date of the tournament, will be used. For 9 round events offering title norm possibilities, FIDE ratings are used. Click here for further details.

FREE ENTRY PRIZES

Players who won CCA free entry prizes in scholastic tournaments may use them to enter our online tournaments if these tournaments have guaranteed (not based on entries) prizes. Free entry status that was to expire in April through June 2020 is being extended through August 15, 2020.

SPECIAL ADDRESS FOR DROPOUTS

We receive so much email that it is difficult to keep track of important messages, such as those regarding players who have entered a tournament but will be unable to attend.  To simplify this task, we have set up a special email address for mail regarding such withdrawals.  It is Dropouts@Chess.US. Please use this address for the following purposes:

  1. To notify us that you will not be able to attend a tournament that you entered.  This should be done at least 2 hours before your first game.
  2. To inquire about a credit or a refund from a past tournament you entered but did not attend.

CCA minimum ratings

CCA minimum ratings are now posted. They will be used, if above USCF ratings, at all CCA tournaments, effective immediately. YOU CAN NOW USE PEAK RATING TO PLAY UP in sections with a minimum rating requirement (REVISED 2/8/20). CLICK HERE. Converting FIDE and foreign ratings to USCF (revised 11/30/18)
